The Club has a 16 bed lodge on Stirling Road at Mount Buller, a three and a half hour drive from Melbourne. The lodge, built in 1990, is comprised of 3 x 4-person bedrooms, 2 x 2-person bedrooms, a games and television room and shared kitchen and dining facilities. The Mount Buller Lodge is kept in first class condition and is in the best location on Mount Buller. Except in winter, you can drive to the door of the lodge. All you need to bring are your sheets, pillow slip or sleeping bag and enough food to keep you happy and entertained.
The lodge is a wonderful facility for members and guests. Winter activities include skiing, snowboarding, alpine walking and other snow related activities. Summer activities include fishing, tennis, mountain biking, horse riding and excellent bush walking.
The winter season begins on the Queens birthday long weekend and finishes some time in late September, early October depending on snow conditions.
Location of the Lodge: Lat: 37° 08' 48" South. Long: 146° 27' 03" East.
During winter, access to Mt Buller is restricted to vehicles with permits. Access from the carpark is by taxi or small bus (highly organized). All drivers know the lodge. Drop off and pick up from the lodge is by taxi unless you walk which is unusual in winter with all your gear, food, etc. At other times you can drive to the door. The mountain is well sign posted and the lodge easy to find as it is adjacent to the fire station, off the bus turn around, on the northern side of Chamois run.
